One of the exciting developments with ocean transport over the past two decades has to do with the introduction and expansion of Roll On / Roll Off ( RO-RO ) ships.
These are ships that are specifically designed to allow vehicles and rolling stock of all types to be loaded on board a ship by either driving the vehicle on board or loading the item on board on a trailer and pulling the trailer on board a RO-RO ship.
Labay/Summers has direct access to trucking companies that can move all types of rolling stock ( cars, trucks, ambulances, fire trucks, tractors, boats on trailers, RV’s, bull dozers, etc. ) from any point in the U.S. to an appropriate U.S. port with RO-RO vessel service. In addition, we can clear the title with U.S. Customs and Border Protection ( CBP ) as required before export. Last but not least, Labay/Summers has direct access to volume RO-RO ocean carrier contracts to ensure we can present the most competitive ocean freight rates available to our clients. We can also provide marine insurance coverage, if desired.
